Golden Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 large golden apples, peeled and sliced
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 50g of butter, melted
  • 200g of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of cold water
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Pie dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Oven

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced golden apples with sugar and cinnamon, and let it sit for 10 minutes to release juices.
  • In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Slowly add melted butter and cold water until a dough forms.
  • Roll out half of the dough and line the pie dish with it, ensuring it covers the edges.
  • Fill the pie shell with the apple mixture, mounding it slightly in the center.
  • Roll out the remaining dough and cover the pie, sealing the edges. Cut small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  • Brush the top crust with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
