Expert Barista's Latte

Ingredients:
- 18g of finely ground coffee
- 150ml of cold milk (preferably whole milk)
- 30ml of freshly brewed espresso
- 1 teaspoon of sugar (optional)
- cocoa powder for dusting (optional)
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- espresso machine
- steam wand
- milk frother
- measuring cup
- ceramic mug
Instructions:
- Start by grinding the coffee beans finely and tamping them down into the portafilter.
- Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine and brew a shot of espresso (30ml).
- While the espresso is brewing, pour the cold milk into a steaming pitcher.
- Insert the steam wand into the milk and start steaming, creating microfoam by positioning the wand just below the surface.
- Once the milk is heated to around 65°C (149°F), turn off the steam and swirl the milk gently in the pitcher to mix the foam.
- Pour the hot espresso into a ceramic mug, followed by the steamed milk, holding back the foam with a spoon until the end.
- Once the milk is poured, spoon the foam on top of the latte.
- Dust with cocoa powder if desired and serve immediately.
