Italian Steak Pizzaiola

Ingredients:
- 2 ribeye steaks (about 200g each)
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 400g of canned diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Season the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Add the steaks to the hot pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare, or until cooked to your liking. Remove steaks from the pan and set aside to rest.
- In the same pan, add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the canned diced tomatoes and add oregano and basil. Stir well and bring the sauce to a simmer.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
- Slice the rested steaks and return them to the pan, nestling them into the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm them through and combine flavors.
- Serve the steak slices topped with the sauce and fresh basil leaves for garnish.
